THE LOCATION
Villa Santa Maria is located in between Vesuvio and Vallo di Lauro, a site with old roots and a land rich of history and culture. The Vallo di Lauro Campania is less than 45 minutes away from the unique sites of Pompei, Ercolano, Naples, and the
coast.
The ideal place to develop an artistic project and to exchange culturally and artistically!
The company offers artists a stay providing onsite accommodation and a rehearsal space or a studio. Residents are invited to live in the nineteenth century villa, a magnificent building just renovated belonging to the prestigious Italian family Siniscalchi which makes the place full of memories and real history.
Dipped in the green, Domicella is also characterized by a particularly mild climate – Fresh and windy air in summer, sweet in winter.
The residence is displaced on 3 floors and has 7 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms and an ample kitchen. It can host up to 12 people.
A program of regular workshops and other events are run by the company in collaboration with the residents to promote interaction and exchange of ideas both among the residents and with the wider community. Further facilities include free WiFi throughout the place, a huge rehearsal space and a library.
You can relax in the great garden that surrounds the house characterized by fruit trees while enjoying the view of Vesuvius Vulcan and on the Valley of Lauro.
In the last floor a room of 35 square meters with parquet can be used for stretching, meditation, watching videos etc.
Rehearsal space is a huge room of 110 square meters, 6 meters high, with linoleum on the floor, heater and dehumidification system.
RESIDENCY PROGRAM
The residency program runs all year long.
Artists are invited to apply if interested in exploring innovative and radical forms. Once selected, they will connect with other artists and eventually be part of a future bigger artistic project that joins different disciplines at the same time. Each
applicant should be really clear about their artistic statement and goal of their research.
THE APPLICATION AND SELECTION PROCESS
The application is made through an email request including examples of work and CV information, as well as precising what goals want to be achieved (artistic statement).
Promising applicants are then interviewed by the artistic director.
LEAVING US WITH A POSSIBILITY TO KEEP THE DIALOGUE…
Artists are all requested to mention the name of Kulturfactory in each future venue or material produced thanks to the residency.
The objective of Kulturfactory is to eventually keep in touch with selected artists and to enhance new forms of collaborations.
Therefore, we like to host various artists together at one time.
